Savory Honey-Glazed Roast Turkey

What you will need:

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 15 pound turkey, neck and giblets removed

  • 1/2 cup dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1 lemon, halved

  • 6 to 8 fresh sage leaves

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 4 Tbs. (1/2 stick) butter, at room temperature


How to make it:

  1. Preheat Oven: Follow the temperature instructions provided on your turkey’s packaging.

    For the Turkey

    1. Seasoning: Rub salt and pepper generously over the turkey, both inside and out.

    2. Stuffing: Place rosemary, garlic cloves, and lemon halves inside the turkey’s cavity.

    3. Butter and Herbs: Spread butter over the turkey breast and under the skin. Tuck sage leaves underneath the skin for extra flavor.

    4. Roasting: Transfer the turkey to the oven.

    For the Glaze
    1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt honey, Dijon mustard, dried rosemary, onion powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.

    2. After 1 hour of roasting, brush the turkey with the glaze. Continue roasting, brushing with the glaze every 20 minutes, until the turkey reaches the internal temperature specified on the packaging.

    3. Once done, cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for about 20 minutes before carving.
