There's no better way to celebrate the autumn season than with a warm, comforting Sweet Harvest Honey Apple Crisp. This recipe combines the natural sweetness of honey with the crispiness of fresh apples, creating a delightful treat that's perfect for cozy fall evenings. Enjoy the comforting taste of fall with every delicious bite.
What you will need:
8 cups sliced Granny-Smith apples, peeling optional
2 1⁄2 cups rolled oats
1 cup honey
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1⁄2 cup butter, melted
How to make it:
Place your sliced apples into a greased baking dish
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the mixture reaches a crumbly consistency
Sprinkle your mixture evenly over the apples
Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until apples are tender
After baking your apple crisp, let it cool for about 15-20 minutes. This will allow it to reach a warm but not burning-hot temperature, making it perfect for serving. The cooling time also helps the juices settle, making it easier to scoop and enjoy.
Please note:
Top your apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle for an extra sweet twist!
Choose your favorite apples—Granny Smith are classic for their tartness, but Fuji or Golden Delicious will also work beautifully.
For added warmth and flavor, mix in some toasted almonds.
