BEE-NATOMY 101 is an intricate look into the dynamic anatomy of the amazing honeybee. A deep dive into the bodies of our buzzy little buddies. These winged wonders have some incredible features that we are sure you'll be thrilled to learn more about.

Kids Honeybee Paint Party
Date: Wednesday, June 18th, 2025
Time: 5 pm to 6 pm
Location: 727 4th Street, Downtown Orland
Join us at The Honeybee Discovery Center in Orland for this sweet paint session! Step-by-step instruction will be geared for our youth artists, ages 5-14, with parents or other encouraging adults joining in the fun too! Don't worry about those little hexagons. You’ll get to create your honeycomb with a stencil and the colors you like best. Add a few buzzing bees, and some details with sharpies, and your unique 12x12 artworks will look so cute hung up together as a memory of your special art time!
Your Paint-Together ticket includes a canvas for each of you, all painting materials, and refreshments provided by the Honeybee Discovery Center. After our painting time, be sure to stay and learn about pollinators in their current exhibit, open until 7pm, just for attendees of this event. Explore and see how this non-profit organization will utilize the funds raised by this event for their exhibition gallery and education program: to help with pollinating minds and sharing the importance of honeybees!
Honeybee Paint Night
Join The Honeybee Discovery Center for a delightful bee painting session! This guided experience will take participants step by step through painting a fuzzy bee and textured flowers on a 12x12 canvas, with the option to go at their own pace and add a personal touch. Refreshments will be provided by the Honeybee Discovery Center, offering a wonderful space for learning—perfect for bee enthusiasts and curious visitors alike!

Discount: $5 off each ticket when you book 2 or more tickets at a time! Guests ages 12 and up are welcome to join, and a special bee painting event designed just for kids is coming soon!

Now offered by Chico State Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems in collaboration with Honeybee Discovery Center.

Come check out a variety of bee-utiful jewelry, soaps, and other artisanal goodies! Local honey is also available for purchase in our Honey Hutch!
Now booking field trips!
Schedule a field trip for your classroom or a private group tour to visit the Honeybee Discovery Center! Visitors will learn about the importance of honeybees and beekeeping. Learn about the current exhibit with hands-on activities.
Field Trip Price:
The suggested field trip fee per class is $75.00
Group Tour Prices:
$25 for a group of 6-10 people.
$35 for a group of 11-20 people
(An additional $3/person over 20 people)
Tours can last 30-45 minutes and field trips up to one hour.
