Honey Roasted Nuts

Recipe Adapted From: SeriousEats.com

Looking for a simple, sweet, and crunchy snack this holiday season? Honey roasted nuts are the perfect festive treat! Made with just a handful of ingredients, this recipe combines the natural sweetness of honey with the toasty flavor of your favorite nuts, making it an irresistible snack or homemade gift for the holidays.

What you will need:

  • 2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, walnuts, or any of your favorites)

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1–2 teaspoons sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

How to make it:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

  2. Prepare the Honey Mixture: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the honey, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon (if using), and salt. Heat gently, stirring until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

  3. Coat the Nuts: Place the mixed nuts in a large bowl. Pour the honey mixture over the nuts and toss to coat them evenly.

  4. Spread and Bake: Spread the coated nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–15 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even roasting. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  5. Optional Sugar Coating: If you like a little extra sweetness, you can sprinkle the nuts with 1–2 teaspoons of sugar after baking while they're still warm. Stir to coat the nuts lightly.

  6. Cool: Allow the nuts to cool completely on the baking sheet. They’ll harden as they cool.

  7. Serve or Store: Once cooled, transfer the honey roasted nuts to an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Enjoy these honey roasted nuts as a snack, in salads, or as a topping for desserts!
